About iBlue

Swiss smart access engineering, since 2013

iBlue builds Bluetooth access hardware and the iBlue Cloud platform for professional installation across residential, commercial, hospitality, and healthcare environments.

The iBlue story

iBlue was founded in Switzerland in 2013 with a specific intent: to replace keys with a system that works the way modern buildings actually operate. Not a consumer gadget. Not a retrofitted alarm panel. A Bluetooth access platform engineered from the ground up for professional installation.

The core technology is Bluetooth Low Energy — chosen for its range, energy profile, and the fact that the device that unlocks the door is already in every pocket. The iBlue stack layers 128-bit encryption over that radio layer, then adds the iBlue Cloud platform so facility managers, hotel operators, and property developers can manage access from a single interface across any number of doors and sites.

iBlue Projects is the project development and partner support front door. While iblue.eu handles the product shop and technical documentation, iBlue Projects works directly with the people planning installations: sizing the right hardware combination for a building, qualifying and supporting resellers and installers, and providing technical assistance to active projects.

The approach is deliberate. Every building is different. Door count, building type, existing infrastructure, and operational requirements all affect what the right access design looks like. We start with your constraints and work to a specification — not the other way around.

How iBlue differs from standard access control

Standard access control

  • Wired RFID readers at every door
  • Dedicated controller hardware on-site
  • Key cards issued and managed physically
  • No remote access without VPN or site visit
  • Complex installation, specialist programming

iBlue Bluetooth access

  • Bluetooth-native — no reader wiring required
  • Gateway connects devices to iBlue Cloud
  • Virtual keys issued by phone, time-limited
  • Remote access management from any browser
  • Scalable from one door to a full hotel
